Reservoir: Our Ingredient Story

Ingredient Story

Our Product

We began with laundry, a humble and universal ritual where skin, textiles, water, and home meet. In collaboration with SPC, a Swiss bioscience engineering company based in Basel, we developed a true bio-based detergent that merges centuries-old craft with modern bioscientific innovation.

Formulated in Switzerland with proprietary, new-to-market ingredients, microalgae oil, plant-derived emulsifiers, and a 600-year-old French soap base, this formula unites tradition and science to create something both time-honored and new. It is fragrance-free, biodegradable, and grey-water safe—powerful against stains yet gentle on skin.

As a 2-in-1 cleansing and softening laundry soap, it fills the gap where both conventional detergents and clean alternatives fall short. While most detergents clean by stripping and weakening fibers over time, Reservoir rebuilds them. It restores softness, breathability, and long-term integrity with every wash, extending the life of garments rather than breaking them down.

What's Inside

Pure Ingredients

  • Water — the base that carries the active ingredients.
  • Plant-based soaps (coconut, sunflower, flaxseed, olive, microalgae) — cleans deeply without damaging fabrics.
  • Proprietary microalgae blend — helps rebuild and strengthen fibers over time.
  • Plant emulsifiers — keep the formula stable and effective.
  • Vegetable glycerin — prevents fibers from drying out.
  • Mineral salts — support cleaning and help soften harsh water.
  • Fermented sugars & plant cellulose — ensure smooth texture and consistency.
Education In Activation

Green brands have been paving transparency way by making their ingredient lists readily available. But even the most emerald of companies make cocktails out of existing surfactants. Creating the world's first microalgae surfactant not only places Reservoir leaps and bounds beyond (skin irritating) SLS and (deforesting) palm oil surfactants, it does better than the neutral ones and gives the world the first surfactant with the potential to heal.
